This week I found a gray hair. My first one ever. I know, I know if you’re reading this and your in your 40’s or even 30’s it sounds laughable. I get it, when your in your 20’s you are the epitome of youth. As I am currently in my 20’s I feel like I’m am starting to become more aware of the process of aging. It’s not just myself aging but everything around me seems to be changing at the speed of light. My parents are getting older, my friends are getting married, people are having babies, and I’m getting gray hair! It just makes you stop and realize that life goes by so quickly. It also makes you realize how quickly things change and how it is important to embrace change and understand it. We all want to look young for as long as we can. The sooner you realize that one day you will start to look old the better. Now you can take the precautions that your parents wish they did to stay younger looking longer.

Being tan is pretty and trendy right now, but wrinkles are not trendy. Think about your future self before you lay out in the sun for three hours. A tan lasts a summer and wrinkles last a lifetime. Remember to put on your sunscreen every 2-hours and always use an SPF 30 or higher. You should be wearing sunscreen year round. Ultraviolet rays are always present and harmful even in the winter months.
Pay attention to what you eat, how much you sleep, if your drinking enough water, or getting enough exercise. If you could buy any car you wanted but you had to keep that one car for your whole life you would take damn good care of it so it never broke down. Your body is your car, take damn good care of it.
If you don’t take care of your skin I promise you, you will look older faster than your friends who do have a skin care regimen. It is so easy to wash your face and use a moisturizer before bed there really is no reason not to. Dry, cracked skin is a sign of age and disease, not youth and vitality. Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize and just take care of your skin! Try products with anti-aging technology to hydrate, brighten, and refine.
If you thought Botox was for people who already have wrinkles, think again. Preventative Botox is the best! All of those little movements in your forehead that you aren’t worried about now will turn into lines and those lines will turn into wrinkles, and those wrinkles will make you sad. Most twenty-something-year-olds aren’t even close to thinking about botox, but I’ll tell you it is LIFE CHANGING. If you don’t know now, you won’t understand until you try it.
